A Busy Summer at The Bridge

The calendar turned to June today!  Summer is here and there are a bunch of special Sundays and events that I want to make sure are on your calendars:

This Sunday – We are recognizing our graduating seniors during the morning service.  The Junior Youth Group meets after the worship service.

All June – The materials in the library are available to add to your home library.

6/10 – The Junior Youth are celebrating the end of the school year with a campfire cookout from 6 pm to 9 pm at the church.

6/11 – We will be receiving new members here at the Bridge during the morning service.  This is always an exciting morning in the life of a church!

6/18 – Father’s Day.  Much like Mother’s Day, we will be remembering any honor Dads (and the men in our lives) during the service and have a special treat for all adult men after the service!

6/25 – We will be welcoming Dwight Groff to the Bridge to give the morning message as my family will be enjoying some time at the beach.  Dwight is the former pastor of Kinzers Mennonite Church and I know he will be a blessing to the Bridge as he brings the message that God has laid on his heart to you.  This is also the last Sunday for Sunday School for the summer.

7/9 – We will be having a Congregational Update before the worship service, beginning at 9 am.  More information about this is to come.  We will be talking about the goals for 2023 that I had laid out at our last Congregational Update in January and talking about what is coming in the 2nd half of the year.

7/23 & 7/30 – We will be holding baptisms at the end of the service on each of these Sundays.  We have a number of “Bridgers” who will be taking this important step in their faith journey!

7/24 – 7/28 – VBS.  More information about VBS this year is coming soon, but plan now to be part of a great week of ministry at the Bridge.

7/30 – We will be having our quarterly fellowship meal after the worship service and baptisms this morning.

8/6 – ABCF Night at the Lancaster Barnstormers, hosted by the Junior Youth Group.  More information to come!

8/13 – I will be taking the morning off from preaching, as I will have just finished up 6 straight days of preaching/teaching out at Rawlinsville Camp Meeting.  My voice will need a break!  Thankfully I have a fine young man willing to help out that morning.  You may have heard of him – Greg Phillips.

8/20 – Back to School Sunday.  I know, I know.  The current school year just ended and I’m already talking about the next one!

9/5 – Kendall Keeler will be our guest speaker this morning, as my family will be joining Mary’s extended family for our annual Labor Day camping weekend at Gifford Pinchot State Park.  Kendall is well-known to the Bridge!

9/10 – Sunday School returns and we have the annual Corn Roast at Lloyd and Mary Lois Kreider’s home.

That is one busy summer!  If your calendar is anything like mine it is already pretty full, but make sure you get those dates on it.  Looking forward to all the celebrations and special Sundays that we have ahead of us.

This Sunday we continue our study of Paul’s instructions for the home by looking at what He has to say about parent/child relationships in Colossians 3:20-21.  If you know of someone who could use some encouragement in this area (whether their kids are living at home or not), invite them to join you at the Bridge!
